For example, the exhibition floor features several logistics players offering new technologies, products or services. Within logistics everything revolves around efficiency, but sustainability is also an increasingly important factor. Big companies like DHL, PostNL and DPD, but also smaller ones like Boekuwzending.com, Eurohermes and Parcel 4You will present themselves to visitors at the exhibition.
Vision on logistics
The enormous importance of logistics is not only underscored by the large number of exhibitors from the industry, the lecture halls are also frequently used to share different visions of logistics, highlight new developments and engage in discussion. What stands out is that the importance of cooperation is underlined by many speakers in the current times.
From impact to action
The reason? Logistics is sensitive to events on the world stage; many logistic managers will have had some sleepless nights in recent years, Sabine Zagers tells us during her lecture Smart inventory management: Pure's strategic approach to their supply chain during uncertain times. Effective logistics collaboration and streamlining of processes can prevent or cover a lot of trouble.
"Most of our warehouses are in Asia, as is a significant part of the e-commerce world. The corona crisis, the war in Ukraine, as well as a ship that was transverse in the Suez Canal: all had an impact on the logistics process. For us, in retrospect, these were good learning moments. It made us look more closely at what is going on in the world and what impact it is having: moving from impact to action."
No need to sell 'no'
For XXL Nutrition, the company's rapid growth came with its own unique set of logistical challenges, CFO Brent van Hoof explains in his talk XXL Nutrition: how to profitably grow 70% with smart inventory management. Van Hoof explains: "Many SMBs struggle to process the available data and therefore make wrong decisions, leading to excess inventory. I myself was also a bit hesitant to reduce inventory. But by partnering with Optiply, we ensured that we could optimize the purchasing process through an online AI purchasing tool, making our inventory management much smarter. This way the inventory stays balanced and we don't have to sell 'no'."
Another "cleverness" van Hoof shares with his audience is separating your b2b and b2c logistics. "We found out that wholesale buyers like supermarkets were disrupting the logistics process. We solved that quite simply by setting up a second bv, purely for these large orders. This allows us to continue to serve both the b2c and b2b markets efficiently."
In a rapidly changing world, optimizing logistics processes and entering into new collaborations that can contribute to this is perhaps more important than ever. The Webwinkel Vakdagen are also an important source of inspiration for this every year.
Attend next year? The Webwinkel Vakdagen will take place on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 April 2025.
